Local Tips for a Perfect Day

  • Leave early, beat the chop

The best water on Lake CDA is before 10am. Glass-flat conditions, no boat wake, and golden morning light. If you're doing water sports, this is your window.

  • Watch the afternoon wind

Lake CDA can kick up whitecaps by mid-afternoon in summer, especially on the main body of the lake. Plan your open-water runs for morning; seek coves after 2pm.

  • Harrison is not for a half day rental

A lot of people think cruising to Harrison is okay for a half-day rental. It's not. It will take your full rental just to go and come back. You will not have time to do anything else.

  • Bays to Explore and Avoid

Visit coves like Beauty Bay, Carlin Bay, Rockford Bay and Loffs Bay— you'll have calm water and the prettiest scenery on the lake. DO NOT ENTER Cougar Bay as there are underwater hazards. Be extra cautious in Kidd Island Bay and Mica Bay It gets shallow fast and you will damage the prop.
